Carol has had the good fortune to live and work in many parts of BC, but the West Kootenay will always be her home. She has been shaped by the mountains, rivers, valleys, history, cultures and politics of this region. Her position at Selkirk College has allowed her to expand her knowledge and understanding of the landscapes that we depend on, and how the Indigenous peoples of this region have thrived from all that the land had to offer, from time immemorial. Her role as instructor in the School of Environment and Geomatics, has given her the opportunity to draw upon her many years working in the forests of BC to share the stories of experience and connection.
Her education includes; Bachelor of Arts- Political Science, Bachelor of Science Forestry, Master of Arts-Integrated Studies (Global Change). She is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) and has run her own environmental consulting company for the past 25 years.
Outside of work Carol enjoys being active, loves to read, and helps her family tend a large organic market farm. Carol has two grown children who bring her endless joy and happiness.
