In 2018, Karen completed a six month GIS internship at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands. Her specific GIS interests are in cartographic art, cultural landscapes, conflict analysis, and peacebuilding.
Karen's post secondary education began with a foundation year at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver. She later completed a two-year diploma in Library Information Technology from Langara College, also in Vancouver.
Karen has worked in academic libraries for more than twenty years. During her years employed by the library at Selkirk College, Karen concurrently undertook a diploma in Peace Studies, additionally serving on the advisory council to the Mir Centre for Peace for several years.
Karen is thrilled to be back at Selkirk College as the Mir Centre Assistant.
