The Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG) is a provincially sponsored assistance program designed to provide grant funding for students enrolled in recognized Adult Basic Education, English-as-a-Second Language, and SOAR (Steps to Opportunities, Academics & Readiness) programs.
The grant covers direct educational costs such as educational fees, supplies, applicable transportation, and unsubsidized child care costs.
The AUG grant is intended to support students who are pursuing studies in order to move into the workforce or to transition into post-secondary education or training. The AUG grant is designed for low-income students and aligns with the income thresholds for provincial and national student loan programs.
