Do I have to be vaccinated before I can begin my classes on campus?
No, there is currently no requirement for students to prove they have been vaccinated before they begin classes. We will update as requirements change.
Do I have to quarantine when I enter Canada?
Yes, currently all travelers who enter Canada by air are required to quarantine for 14 days: 3 days at a government approved hotel, and then the remainder of the 14-day quarantine at a suitable location. More details about travel restrictions and quarantine can be found here.
Can I start studying online without a visa approval?
No, for the September (fall) intake, all students must have a valid study permit in order to begin classes.
Is my program online or on campus in September?
All programs will be on campus for September. You may have the option to take one or two online classes as part of your program, but all students need to plan to travel to the Selkirk College region for the September (fall) semester. You cannot take your program online from your home country or from another city in Canada (eg. Vancouver or Surrey). Program specific information will be available online and will be emailed to you.
If I can’t travel to Canada or the Selkirk College region for the September (fall) semester, will there be an online option for me?
No, all students must make plans to travel to Canada and live in the Selkirk College region for the September (fall) semester.
I’m a returning student and have completed half or more of my program online. Am I required to study my remaining semester or last semester on campus?
Yes, all new and returning students will be required to live in the Selkirk College region for the September (fall) semester. You may be able to take some courses online, but you cannot complete your entire program online.
