An election has been called to fill the following positions that offer up a great leadership development opportunity for students.
If you are currently enrolled and in good standing, you are eligible to run for these positions. As a student member, you will also be able to earn co-curricular recognition for your participation. These positions provide good leadership development opportunity for students.
Selkirk College Board
Two student positions. Applications are encouraged from all Selkirk College campuses and learning centres. (One seat will be a shared joint role with the Student Union.)
The Selkirk College Board of Governors meets the fourth Tuesday of each month from 4–7 pm.

Four student positions. Applications are encouraged from all Selkirk College campuses and learning centres. (Two seats will be a shared joint role with the Student Union.)
Education Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 4–6 pm.

The terms of office for these positions are from October 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, or earlier, depending on program end date.
These roles require about three to four hours preparation prior to each meeting.
Submit an Application
Follow these steps to complete the nomination forms for the Selkirk College Board of Governors and Education Council for the 2022/23 academic year.
Nominations will open on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Write a candidate campaign statement to include with your candidate application form. This statement should include a short description about yourself and a short description of why you are interested in sitting on one of these committees (up to 200 words). Make sure that your campaign statement is available to upload before you start the form.
Complete a Candidate Application Information Form. You will be required to attach your candidate campaign statement to the application form.
Direct students who will be supporting your application to complete the Support of Candidate Application Signature Form. Three support of candidate application signature forms are required to be submitted with each application.
Once all four forms—one candidate application information form and three support of candidate application signature forms—are submitted, your application package is complete.
All forms must be submitted no later than Friday, September 16, 2022 at 3 pm.
We will be verifying the authenticity of the supporting forms through email.
Nominations must be received by Friday, September 16, 2022, at 3 pm.
The campaign runs from Tuesday, September 20, to Thursday, September 22.
Election/Voting (if needed). If an election is necessary, all students will receive a link through their student email to allow them to vote for the student of their choice electronically. Voting will take place from 10 am on Friday, September 23, to 5 pm on Monday, September 26.
