The TESOL program provided me with the necessary tools to succeed in teaching both overseas and in a Canadian context. Participating in the International Practicum, I had the opportunity to teach in China, guided by our supportive and skilled TESOL instructors.
This led to me working for the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy as a LINC instructor and Settlement Worker. Working with refugees, newly immigrated residents and international students made me a part of a inter-cultural community, and ultimately led me to position I hold now with the International Department at Selkirk.
If you have a passion for international development, travel and authentic engagement with international students, I highly recommend enrolling in the TESOL program to show you the world of opportunity that awaits you.
