This 30-hour theory and practical course will provide understanding in the terminology and materials for basic roof care and maintenance, learn how to spot building problems and the roofing areas that require yearly attention to achieve a water-tight envelope. Increased understanding and application of practical skills and safety procedures. Learn about different roof types and slope differences.
Certificate included in this course is Fall Protection.
In this course students will learn about: Safety, Roofing products, Trouble shooting, Fall protection certificate, Roofing maintenance and basic repair, Maintenance for flat roofs, Maintenance for sloped roofs.
Course Completion
Students who attend 100% of the course and achieve a minimum of 70% on assignments, practical and written assessments will receive a certificate of completion for this course. Students who successful complete all 6 courses of the Core Skills for Facilities Maintenance will receive a program certificate of completion.
This instructor, Mike Sjouwerman, has 35 years of roofing, he has worked on many projects, of many sizes, from a Home Depot, to a town house complex, to a single-family home. Mike has in depth knowledge of roofing and many years of experience, including frontline roofing and repair, being maintenance superintendent for roofing repair and a production crew foreperson.
