High school students can get a jump start on their trades training through Youth Train in Trades. Don't wait to build your experience and skills!
What is Youth Train in Trades?
Youth Train in Trades (YTT) is a dual-credit program, which means that students in Grade 12 can work on the Level 1 of technical trades training while earning credit toward their high school graduation. Offered through Skilled Trades BC, this pathway is a great way to learn more about an industry at a younger age.
You could be working in your field, learning from experts and earning a pay cheque—all before graduation.
YTT programs are offered collaboratively between a high school and a post-secondary institution, with funding provided by Skilled Trades BC for each participating student.
YTT programs are not eligible for student loan funding. Some exceptions apply, please contact Financial Aid for details.
