Can I apply without an IELTS scores if I plan to take the IELTS test at a later date? Do you issue conditional offer letters?
Selkirk College will issue a conditional offer letter, but only once.
This conditional offer letter will outline all outstanding conditions that need to be met before an official offer letter can be issued, including IELTS test score, payment of tuition and fees, etc.
Do I need to submit an IELTS or TOEFL test score if the national language of my home country is English?
If the national language of your home country is English, and you have completed your secondary and post-secondary studies in English, you may be exempt from these language proficiency tests.

The tuition fee is mentioned in the program flyer for one year. Can the student pay this in two installments?
Yes, the annual tuition fee will be paid in two installments, due before the start of classes.
Who is this program designed for?
This program is designed for two types of students:
- Students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than business, who want a condensed accounting and finance program as preparation for a career in business.
- It is also designed for international students who have a business degree from their home country, but want a Canadian credential and would like to learn accounting from a Canadian perspective.
I have a BBA or B.Comm already from a university in my home country. What will I study in Postgraduate Accounting?
This program contains some introductory accounting and finance courses as well as some higher-level business courses.
This program is not an MBA level program and should not be viewed as a replacement for an MBA.
Will I find the courses easy or repetitive if I already possess a BBA or B.Commerce from my home country?
In the first year, you may find some of the courses contain content that you have previously studied. However, the content will be from a Canadian business perspective.
I have a bachelor’s degree, but not in a field related to business. Can I take this program?
Yes, this program is designed for students who have a bachelor’s degree in any field and want to enter the field of business.
Who should not take this program?
This program is not for students who possess a business diploma, BBA or BComm from a Canadian or American college or university. There will be too much coursework that will be repeated.
Can courses in this program transfer into an MBA or other master’s degree program?
No, at this point, there are no courses that transfer into a master’s degree program.
