Entrance Scholarships

A variety of scholarships are available to support students registering in full-time studies at Selkirk College for the first time. Awards are based on high academic achievement in select Grade 11 and/or 12 courses. Get up to $2,500! Applications open from February 15–March 31.

Eligibility

To qualify for an Entrance Scholarship, you must:
 

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has graduated, or is about to graduate, from secondary school. 
  • Be registering at Selkirk College for the first time in a full-time (minimum 80% course load) post-secondary program. Students with a documented disability who are registered with Accessibility Services are eligible at a minimum 40% course load. 

Note: Youth Train in Trades or apprenticeship programs are not eligible for entrance scholarships. 

Application process
  1. Apply for a post-secondary program at Selkirk College. You will be assigned a student number. 
  2. Apply for an entrance scholarship between February 15 and March 31. 
  3. Award recipients will be notified by email. 
  4. Students must confirm whether the award will be accepted or declined by the requested deadline. 
  5. Students who accept the award are required to complete a thank you letter to the donor.

Early Entrance Scholarships

The Board of Governor’s Early Entrance Scholarship is awarded to eligible new Selkirk College students annually.

Eligibility

To qualify for a Board of Governor's Early Entrance Scholarship, you must:
 

  • Be applying to Selkirk College for the first time in a full-time* (minimum 80% course load) post-secondary program. Students with a documented disability who are registered with Accessibility Services are eligible at a minimum 40% course load.

Other eligibility criteria for fall 2026 is currently under review.

Note: Youth Train in Trades or apprenticeship programs are not eligible for entrance scholarships.
