Help Steward This Beautiful Land

Join Sustainable Selkirk as we give the beloved Castlegar Campus trails and shoreline a spring cleaning!

The Castlegar Campus trails and shoreline hug the sacred confluence of the Columbia and Kootenay Rivers. The confluence is an important habitat for many wildlife species, particularly waterfowl and fish. It is also a popular recreational area for trail walking and fishing. Old fishing line, lures, and hooks can be found scattered along the shoreline, practically invisible but still a threat to wildlife. Starting in the G-wing parking lot, we will work our way along the trails to the river, and then up the river toward the confluence.

From there, we will wave to friends across the confluence in K'pit'els, who will be organizing a volunteer community cleanup in that area!
