Grassroots Nonviolent Campaigns

Join us on the International Day of Nonviolence for a presentation by the former chair of the Mir Centre for Peace, Randy Janzen, who recently returned from the West Bank in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. He will share his own view from the ground and the perspectives of local nonviolent activists working for justice and peace.

Admission is by donation.

This summer, Janzen took part in a feasibility study to implement a large-scale unarmed civilian protection (UCP) team in the West Bank and Gaza, addressing what human rights groups are labelling as Apartheid and genocide.

The goal of UCP is to support grassroots nonviolent campaigns led by Palestinians and supported by Israeli activists, to create safer space for people to campaign for their basic human rights. This presentation will highlight the current challenges and also the successes of their struggle for peace and justice.
