I have been teaching Geography and related courses in the School of Environment & Geomatics, and University Arts and Sciences since 1997. My education includes a degree in Geography from the University of Victoria (1992) and a Master’s degree in Geography from York University (1995). Prior to working at Selkirk College, I have lived throughout British Columbia, working for the Ministry of Forests and for several small environmental consulting firms.
Originally from Smithers, BC, I was drawn to the Kootenays for the incredible natural beauty and the recreational opportunities that the mountains and rivers provide. The Kootenays are a fabulous place to teach students about geography because of the living lab outside the classroom. I enjoy teaching at Selkirk College because we are truly vested in our students. I have the pleasure of getting to know students and the time to focus on quality instruction. Outside of the college I enjoy spending time with my family and am an active volunteer in the community.
