After teaching and facilitating in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program at Selkirk College since 2017, Jocelyn moved into the role of chair for the School of Health and Human Services in 2023, where she continues to support students and faculty.
Jocelyn grew up in Rossland, BC, and graduated from the BSN Program at Selkirk College in 2011. Growing up, Jocelyn knew she was keen to pursue a nursing career, inspired by her grandmother, who was a head nurse at the old Rossland hospital, and her great-grandfather, who, at that time, was one of the only physicians in Rossland. Jocelyn feels a true sense of connection to the West Kootenay and considers herself fortunate to live and work in such a beautiful community.
Jocelyn's nursing background has been primarily focused on surgical care, with experience in many other areas of nursing, including critical care, long-term care, general medicine and clinical education. Jocelyn completed a Master of Science in Nursing degree at UBC Okanagan, with research in nursing ethics and end-of-life care. Jocelyn has always had a passion for teaching and loves sharing the art of nursing with others.
Outside of work, you will find Jocelyn enjoying the beautiful trails with her dog, golfing with her husband in the summer, spending time near the lake and enjoying everything the Kootenay community has to offer.
