Korean Fermentation: Making Kimchi and Fruit Enzyme

In the first session, learn hands-on how to make traditional Korean kimchi. Learn about key ingredients, preparation, and fermentation while making their own batch of kimchi to take home. Discover the flavours and traditions behind one of Korea’s most popular and healthy foods.

In the second session, learn how to make traditional Korean fruit enzymes using fresh fruit, sugar, and natural fermentation. Explore the process of making fruit enzymes and their many uses. This hands-on class will provide practical tips and techniques for making your own fruit enzyme at home.

Participants will work with fresh food ingredients and should be prepared for hands-on food preparation. Please advise the instructor of any food allergies or dietary restrictions in advance.

Participants should bring an apron and a container with a secure lid to take their finished product home. All other ingredients and equipment will be provided.

No previous cooking or fermentation experience is required. This course is suitable for beginners and anyone interested in Korean food, kimchi-making, and traditional fermentation. Participants should be comfortable with basic food preparation and handling fresh ingredients.
