Jason holds a diploma in structural/architectural design from BCIT and a diploma from Vancouver Film School in computer graphics and animation.

Jason has worked as a structural detailer, computer modeler and animator for TV, and has worked in architectural rendering and commercial advertising. Jason started with Selkirk College in August of 1998 and was hired to develop the Multimedia Production and Design program which is now called Digital Arts.

In 2002, the program moved to Nelson as part of the School of the Arts where Jason assumed the role of Chair. In 2014, Jason developed the Advanced Manufacturing division of Selkirk College’s Applied Research and Innovation department. During that year, Jason was invited to support the development and implementation of the MIDAS facility in Trail, BC.

In 2019, the Advanced Manufacturing applied research division was awarded a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Build IE research grant for Advanced Manufacturing. Then in 2020, the division was awarded a Technology Access Centre grant from NSERC where Jason is currently working as Chair.

Jason makes his home in Castlegar where he lives with his wife and two children. If he’s not in his shop making something cool, he’s skiing, camping or probably golfing.
