Meet Your Trainer
Jane Corkish has a BA on Sociology & Psychology but her real education took place in the social service sector. First as a front line worker with youth at risk, then as a Program Coordinator designing and running programs that supported troubled families, bereaved children and teens, and the homeless.
Seasoned in working with diverse populations and work cultures, Jane was able to hone her skills of gaining trust and thinking on her feet during her tenure as a Critical Incident Coordinator for the Langley School District. Jane finished her career as a Traumatic Incident Reduction Facilitator.
During her 30 year career, Jane facilitated hundreds of workshops on supporting grieving children and how transform PTSD into Post Traumatic Growth. Although retired, Jane continues to serve her community as a First Responder and a Volunteer Firefighter. The most memorable feedback she received was from the student who told her “If you ever get tired of your job as a teacher you would make one hell of a Stand-up Comedian.
Jane’s work is guided by the beliefs that knowledge is the only real power and compassion is the only real treasure and laughter will save us from all of it.
