Selkirk College is opening its doors to the community, inviting anyone considering further education to discover programs that match their goals and interests, explore career pathways, and experience college life firsthand.
Open House takes place on Friday, November 13, at the Castlegar Campus from 10 am to 2 pm. Everyone is welcome, including high school students and their parents and supporters, people looking to retrain, upgrade or change careers, and anyone interested in learning more about Selkirk College.
Visitors can connect directly with instructors and program experts from Academic Upgrading, Arts and Technology, Business, Environment and Geomatics, Health and Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Industry and Trades Training, University Arts and Sciences, and Community Education and Workplace Training. Attendees can explore program and career pathways while learning about admission requirements, financial aid and awards, transfer opportunities, student supports and campus life.
Apply at Open House for a Chance to Win $500 for Textbooks
Applications for 2027 are now open, and Admissions staff will be on hand to support anyone who wants to apply. Those who apply for Fall 2027 at Open House (or before) will be entered into a draw to win $500 toward textbooks for their first semester.
“Open House is an opportunity for us to welcome prospective students and the community into Selkirk College to showcase what an amazing place we have for advanced learning right here in the West Kootenay and Boundary regions!” says Brier Albano, vice-president, students and external relations at Selkirk College. “We’re excited to share how an education grounded in real-world experience can prepare them for an in-demand career or further studies.”
