The Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute, at Selkirk College, is a regional research centre with a mandate to support informed decision-making by Columbia Basin-Boundary communities through the provision of information, applied research and related outreach and extension support.
Products and Services
The Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute (RDI) partners with governments, non-profits and other funders to undertake research to support informed decision-making in the region. Past projects have generated valuable datasets, rurally-relevant knowledge, and new decision-making tools. Check out some of the feature projects on the right panel.
Outside of grant-funded initiatives, the RDI offers fee-for-service research support to projects that align with its mandate and require rigorous, unbiased examination of rural development issues. We aim to involve students in all research projects. Organizations in the region can also access data provision and advisory services through the State of the Basin program.
