Employee Groups

There are currently four employee groups at Selkirk College. All employees are covered by either a collective agreement (faculty and support staff) or set terms of employment (exempt or non-union temporary employment contracts).

Selkirk College Faculty Association (SCFA)

The Selkirk College Faculty Association is a bargaining unit representing instructional faculty and faculty assistants in Business, Digital Media, Health Services, Kootenay Studio Arts, Music, Renewable Resources and University Arts & Sciences, as well as librarians and counsellors. They are a member (Local 10) of the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC (FPSE). Learn more about SCFA Local Collective Agreement and local FPSE Common Agreement.

BC Government Employees Union (BCGEU)

The BC Government Employees Union represents employees in the schools of Selkirk  International, Academic Upgrading & Development , Industry & Trades Training, Digital Media and Continuing Education and Distributed learning. Learn more about the BCGEU Collective Agreement and BCGEU Common Agreement.

Public and Private Workers of Canada (PPWC)

The Public and Private Workers of Canada is a bargaining unit representing support staff at the college. Members are in the areas of Food Services, IT Services, Student Services, Health and Safety, Maintenance and Building Service Workers and campus support across the campuses. Learn more about the PPWC Collective Agreement.

Exempt Employees

Selkirk College employees who do not belong to the SCFA, BCGEU or PPWC employee groups are covered under the Administrative Staff Employment and Benefit Program or have individual Temporary Employment Contracts.
