Research Ethics and Policy
In our daily work, we follow:
- Policy 8710 – Integrity in Research
- Policy 8700 – Research Involving Human Participants
- Policy 8701 – Care and Use of Animals in Research and Teaching
All research involving human participants is reviewed by the Selkirk College Research Ethics Committee, which is guided by the Tri-Council Policy Statement: 2 Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2). Faculty, staff and students undertaking research that involves human participants are required to complete the Tri-Council Policy Statement 2 Core Tutorial.
To learn more about research ethics proposal requirements, related deadlines, appropriate forms to use, and how to submit a proposal to the Research Ethics Committee:
Employees of Selkirk College should go to the Research Ethics section of MySelkirk.
Students should contact their Selkirk College Supervisor who will access the Research Ethics Committee information and above named forms from MySelkirk.
Researchers who are not employees of Selkirk College should contact the committee’s Administrative Assistant Tyanna Popoff for information on how to proceed.
