Krista Sparrow has been making natural soaps since 2018. She loves developing recipes and experimenting with different natural ingredients to create unique artisan soaps, which she sells through her company Live Full. She has a passion for teaching and enjoys sharing her soap knowledge and experience with others.
Robin is a mushroom farmer and forager from Kaslo eager to share his expertise and enthusiasm for mushrooms through his foraging, cultivation and identification classes. Robin has operated Mr. Mercy’s Mushrooms in the North Kootenay Lake region for more than five years. There, they produce organic seasonal strains appropriate for West Kootenay climate and are featured at many local restaurants and grocery stores.
Robin helps people learn to grow their own mushrooms, identify found fungi and forage in the forest. Robin is also passionate about multi-use forests and is part of a pilot project planting mushrooms in a section of the Kaslo Community Forest. Read more...
Cooking with Alligator Pie
The Alligator Pie Catering team is comprised of Erin Bruce and Pat McInnis. They have each been working in the food industry since they were teenagers and met in a restaurant in Victoria in 1994. They went on to create a small scale bakery in Victoria where they delivered their goodies on bicycles. After moving to Nelson and working in local restaurants, they decided to open a catering and sauce business. Alligator Pie Catering was started in 2000. Erin and Pat are always eager to learn and adapt new recipes and menu ideas. Their love of food and creating new and interesting dishes has kept things fun and interesting and they are excited to share their experience with you.
