Program Pathway
There are two pathways that you can pursue after studying in the Contemporary Music & Technology Program.
Please note that students planning to transfer into a degree program at another post-secondary institution must check the transfer requirements of the program they wish to enrol in. Students must successfully audition at any receiving institution in order to further their studies. It is strongly recommended that students consult with the program advisor of the receiving institution to ensure that they have all of the necessary transfer requirements.
Complete the Contemporary Music & Technology Diploma
Step 2. Transfer to another institution
Choose from a wide variety of post-secondary institutions to further your studies of music.
A. Berklee College of Music
Transfer to complete your undergraduate degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
OR
B. Choose from other institutions
Transfer to complete your undergraduate degree at Capilano University, Humber College, McGill University, MacEwan University, Edna Manley College and many more.
Finish Year One of the Contemporary Music & Technology Diploma
Step 2. Further your studies in Jamaica
Study for one semester at Edna Manley College of the Performing and Visual Arts.
Step 3: Finish or Transfer Back
You have the option to finish your studies at Edna Manley College or transfer back to Selkirk College to finish your diploma.
It is strongly recommended that students consult with the program advisor of the receiving institution to ensure that they have all of the necessary transfer requirements.
Berklee-Selkirk College Academic Partnership
The Berklee-Selkirk College Academic Partnership provides students with an opportunity to begin their music education at Selkirk College in beautiful Nelson, British Columbia, Canada, for one to two years and complete an undergraduate degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
With highly competitive tuition, outstanding instructors and an excellent, Berklee-based curriculum, Selkirk College can help students attain their goal of a Berklee music degree.
A Berklee Global Academic Partner
The Selkirk College Contemporary Music & Technology Program is a Berklee Academic Partner and is delivered with Berklee curriculum. Academic partnerships are the most comprehensive partnerships Berklee has with external educational institutions.
Through a Credit Transfer Agreement, the curricular alignment between Berklee and Selkirk College allows students to transfer specific courses taken at Selkirk College to Berklee in order to complete their program of study.
Once accepted to Berklee, students may receive up to 46 transfer credits for courses taken at Selkirk College.
This is a key element in support of Berklee’s affordability initiative. Selkirk College can collaborate with Berklee to host Berklee on the Road clinics and workshops, faculty exchanges, auditions and interviews, alumni and advancement events, and more.
