HSER Program Coordinator/Instructor, Early Childhood Care and Education
I was hired at Selkirk College in December 2013 and have been teaching part time since January 2014 in both the ECCE and post basic Infant/Toddler certificate programs. I received my first formal post-secondary training in Early Childhood Education and graduated with a Diploma in Human Services from Selkirk College in 1994.
As an alumnus, I am thrilled to return as an instructor as I feel I have come “home”. I am honoured to be part of a team that works tirelessly in ensuring that the best quality early childhood educators are prepared for this very rewarding field.
I am excited to share my passion with new learners each year. I earned a Bachelor in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria and Master of Education in Early Childhood Education through the University of British Columbia. I have worked in childcare, infant/toddler care, as a program manager at the Child Care Resource and Referral, and most recently as an Early Years Program Supervisor. I bring this knowledge and experience as a gift back to Selkirk College.
