Born-and-raised on a farm in small-town Saskatchewan, to a family of educators, I feel like I’ve been skirting around the education system my whole life. Since 1994, I’ve slowly been making my way west with a couple of stops in Alberta along the way. Now in my third year in the Kootenays, I feel like I’ve finally found a place to set down roots with my family. Selkirk College and the Kootenays have that family, small-town feeling that I was missing and all the mountains, lakes and outdoor activities that fulfill my need for adventure.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University, Business Analysis Certificate from Mount Royal University and diplomas in Petroleum & Business Administration. Lifelong learning is a philosophy I hold and curiosity drives that need. I’ve always felt that the smaller schools like Selkirk College are underappreciated for all that they have to offer.
My overall goal and value would be to live a life of service in the broader sense of kindness, acknowledgement and making a difference no matter how small. My role here at Selkirk College as Campus Manager is perfect for achieving that goal. I’m always happy to help out and look forward to making a positive impact on the students, staff and the campus spaces; improving efficiencies, utilization, increasing sustainability and making these happy learning/working spaces that folks are proud to be a part of.
