Kristina Deenik is an experienced environmental professional with a diverse background in conducting impactful research across academic, private and government sectors. She has extensive experience as a field biologist and is a skilled data analysist. She holds a master’s degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia where she used cutting-edge remote sensing techniques, including LiDAR and earth-observation satellite data, to map wetlands in the Okanagan.
She now applies her skills to a variety of projects at Selkirk Innovates from fisheries to forestry and everything in between. She is excited by the novelty of the research happening at Selkirk and is motivated to find new approaches and efficiencies for environmental research in the digital age.
When not at work, Kristina is likely to be hiking in the mountains, playing beach volleyball or finding live music to dance to in Nelson.
