This award will be presented to Associate of Science students who have completed first year and are majoring in any biological discipline including ecology, plant, animal, human, cell, or molecular biology, and who are continuing full time studies at Selkirk College. The successful applicant must be registered in and continue in a minimum of two second year Biology courses for the Fall semester.
Started in 1988 by The Environment and Outdoor Club. They raised the seed money for this scholarship and then continued to add to it every year with plant sales and donating the proceeds to the scholarship. The club also took on the maintenance of the plants in the pit and received an honorarium for this which they donated. Monthly donations by the biology staff and when they received an honorarium for presentations it was donated to the scholarship.
