Dinner Basket Conversations
Dinner Basket Conversations make sensitive and difficult topics accessible by creating a safe, comfortable environment. Gather as a group to prepare and enjoy a meal together while discussing a topic. The ingredients for the meal are provided free of charge and a kitchen space is available on the Castlegar Campus and at the Tenth Street Housing in Nelson.
If you would like to participate in a Dinner Basket Conversation please contact Healthy Campus Coordinator Ewnet Demisse.
Campuses across Canada
Since November 2013, hundreds of Selkirk College students and staff have participated in Dinner Basket Conversations. These events have happened in classrooms, in student housing and in students' homes and there has been considerable feedback that people enjoy the experience of cooking, eating and talking together. Dinner Basket Conversations have become a resource for other post-secondary institutions to follow.
