Global Goals Week is an opportunity for our community along with students and staff at Selkirk College to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discover how to work towards them at a personal and local level.

Our line up:
This event will feature speakers, discussions, and resources from Selkirk and the greater community.
Monday, Feb. 22 at 12:15-12:45 p.m. – “Climate Change & Health” with Katherine Oldfield, ND and Judith Fearing, RN and member of the Citizens' Climate Lobby
Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 12:15-12:45 p.m. – “Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society: Local initiatives and how to get involved” with Camille LeBlanc, Program Manager for Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society
Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 12:15-12:45 p.m. – “SDG 101: An introduction to the Sustainable Development Goals” with Judi Varga-Toth, from Colleges and Institutes of Canada
Thursday, Feb. 25 at 12:15-12:45 p.m. – “100% Renewable Energy: 100% possible, while costing less” with Robert Macrae, Selkirk College Integrated Environmental Planning instructor
Friday Feb. 26
- at 12:00-12:30 p.m. – “My Journey with the SDGs” with Avianna Clempson, Selkirk College Forest Technology student
- at 12:30-1 p.m. – "Peace and Sustainability: How Doukhobor history, culture, and community connects to the Sustainable Development Goals" with Leeza Perehudoff, USCC Union of Youth Council chairperson
