Composition major Anand Nambiar will perform a pop/rock set.
Born and raised in Mumbai, Anand Nambiar is a composer/songwriter who has been playing music since the age of 17. Influenced by artists around the world, his music style ranges from classic rock, R&B, blues, heavy metal and pop. With his band Tort, he released an EP in 2018 and was also active as a session artist in the Dubai commercial music scene. Anand has completed Grade 8 in rock and pop from Trinity College London with distinction and also has a guitar teaching experience of six years.
Anand's instrumental showcase features a range of musical styles beginning with a pop-rock tune followed by a ballad, instrumental funk/rock song and film scoring videos.
Also featuring: Juliana Kopp - voice; Nieva Cunningham - cello; Grace Clark - violin, Duncan Girvan & Jay Porteous - rhythm guitar; Rio Isaacs & Lancey Pants - bass; Alireza Sattary - keys; and Em McArthur - drums.
The Showcase 2022 concert series is open to the entire community.
Doors open for Showcase 2022 concerts at 7 p.m. with performances starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation and you should arrive early to guarantee a seat. Masks are optional for all audience members. Proof of vaccination is not required for this and other educational post-secondary events as per the orders of the Provincial Health Officer.
