My husband and I brought our young family to the Kootenays, from Vancouver Island, in 2003. The West Kootenays has been a beautiful place to raise my sons and build our lives.
I joined the world of health care and education at Selkirk College in 2005. Since then, I have worked in several different healthcare settings and continued on as a life-long learner. In 2010, I became a licensed practical nurse then graduated from the Selkirk College Advanced Inter-Disciplinary Gerontology Diploma in 2015 and then the Provincial Instructor Diploma with Vancouver Community College in 2021.
My formal teaching experience began in 2014 when I joined Selkirk College as a clinical instructor for the HCA program and has evolved into a new way to empower others to find and utilize their full potential.
