Join us for a screening of Mothers of the Revolution.
With the Cold War looming and nuclear war increasingly likely, a band of British mothers set up camp at the Greenham Common military base. Tens of thousands soon joined them and many stayed for years. Their determined, creative and uniquely feminist protest helped arrest nuclear proliferation and make history.
The post-movie discussion features disarmament expert Erin Hunt. Erin is a member of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, which negotiated the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017. Her areas of expertise include the humanitarian impact of indiscriminate weapons, victim assistance, gender in disarmament and Canadian disarmament policy.
