Walking for the Coldest Night of the Year? Join us in a veiwing kickoff of The Public.
This event is hosted by The Bailey Theatre and co-organized by Selkirk College's Academic Upgrading and the Mir Centre for Peace in conjunction with the Coldest Night of the Year in Trail BC. This event is co-sponsored by the Trail Public Library, Trail & District Arts Council and the Trail Community Action Team.
Join with your teammates and friends to watch the 2019 film The Public. When a group of homeless library patrons occupy a city library to escape freezing temperatures, it triggers an extreme reaction by local authorities and media. A heartwarming story that raises important questions about access, community, and compassion. Starring Alec Baldwin, Emilio Estevez and Taylor Schilling.
Popcorn and hot chocolate will be on sale in the lobby.
Proof of vaccination and government-issued ID is required. Please arrive early to allow theatre staff time to have everyone check in.
Proceeds will go to La Nina Shelter in Trail BC.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing hunger, hurt and homelessness. Team up or walk after the film.
Respect & Connect: A Better Community for Us All
This educational series addresses issues such as homelessness, mental illness and substance use, aiming to provide insight and tools to help us better interact with everyone in our community. The series includes training opportunities, a social media campaign, a speaker series and more.
