Learners in Kaslo and Nakusp can continue to pursue academic upgrading and skills training close to home through Selkirk College points of access in both communities.
Academic Upgrading
Academic upgrading is an opportunity to develop skills, complete prerequisites for entry into college or university or pursue a BC Adult Graduation Diploma.
Instructor Jenn Lucke spends one day a week in each community. Drop in or make an appointment to:
- Select and register for college courses
- Connect with instructors and courses in other centres
- Get one-to-one help or computer support
- Use a quiet space to study, submit assignments and write tests
Kaslo
Mondays, 9 am–3 pm, Kaslo & District Public Library
Nakusp
Tuesdays, 9:30 am–3 pm, Selkirk College Learning Centre
For more information or to book an appointment in Kaslo and Nakusp between now and April, please contact Jenn Lucke. While these community access points are closed for the summer, learners in Nakusp and Kaslo can continue their upgrading through the Silver King Campus in Nelson from May to July.

Selkirk College is committed to supporting access to education and training in Kaslo and Nakusp, despite the closure of learning centres in these communities.
The Kaslo Learning Centre is now closed permanently. The Nakusp Learning Centre is now closed to the general public, but upgrading and skills training courses are still offered at this location for the time being.
