After exams were completed at the end of the second semester, students in the first-year cohort of the Forest Technology Program had the opportunity to take part in two weeks of field study. The 10 days of hands-on training exercises complimented the classroom study and enabled students to put into practice their learning.
One of the stops on the field study was a cutblock above Trail where the 26 students planted more than 10,000 trees and dove deeper in the silviculture aspect of forestry.
Some students had previous experience with tree planting and some were as green as the tiny trees they were digging into the earth.
