Whether you love nature and want to play a role in preserving our environment or have an interest in visually identifying relationships, patterns and trends through mapping, we have a program to fit your needs. We focus on experiential, hands-on outdoor learning in our nationally accredited environmental science programs.
Our nationally accredited environmental science programs offer you a common first year where you will study along side all School of Environment & Geomatics students. After completing your core competencies, you will move into your selected diploma program for a specialized second year.

The Drone Technologies program is designed to provide learners with the competencies required to use drones for commercial and/or personal use.
Selkirk Innovates, Selkirk College’s applied research and innovation division, is pleased to offer the Drone Technologies training program. Selkirk Innovates will deliver a state-of-the-art applied drone training program using its highly specialized drone technologies.
For over forty years the Selkirk College Forest Technology program has been preparing students to balance values and manage BC’s forest land. The program has its roots in serving land management agencies and the BC forest industry with skilled graduates who are job ready and who can make an impact in today’s complex land management environment.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a highly valued workplace asset with industries increasingly needing GIS experts. With our Advanced Certificate and Advanced Diploma, that can continue into Bachelor's Degree, we provide you with top quality GIS training and education to prepare you with essential skills to succeed in today's ever-changing Geomatics industry.
Our nationally-accredited Integrated Environment Planning (IEP) diploma program offers diverse and complimentary courses that prepare you for professional opportunities in land-use planning, environmental management and environmental technology. This program transfers to several Canadian universities offering entry into a variety of degree programs.
Gain experience in cutting-edge technology in field-based learning that gives you the hands-on skills and knowledge you need to compete successfully for jobs as Park Rangers, Fisheries and Wildlife Technicians, in outdoor recreation, and in the forest industry. Our small class sizes and experienced instructors provide a rich learning environment that is complemented by the spectacular West Kootenay lifestyle.
