Exam Booking
Scheduling Your Accommodated Exams
Step 1: Establish Your Exam Accommodation Eligibility
The first step in establishing exam accommodations is to meet with an accessibility coordinator.
To schedule an appointment with an accessibility coordinator:
- Castlegar, Trail or Grand Forks campuses, please call the Welcome Desk at 250.304.6501.
- Nelson Campuses (Silver King & Tenth Street), please call 250.352.6601.
Or, email your appointment request for any campus to: info@selkirk.ca.
At this meeting, the accessibility coordinator will review your documentation of disability and discuss your eligibility for academic accommodations, including potential exam accommodations. Once an accommodation plan has been confirmed, you will receive a Letter of Academic Accommodation to provide to your instructors. This letter confirms which accommodations you are eligible for, and includes your eligible exam accommodations.
Step 2: Schedule Your Quiz, Test or Exam
Castlegar & Trail Campus Exam Request Process
In order to book and confirm regular course quiz, test or exam writing times, students must book each quiz, test or exam date and start time using the Student Exam Booking Form. The Accessibility Services Centre must receive the completed form at least seven days before the requested exam date.
Booking Castlegar & Trail Final Exams
Students are required to submit a Student Exam Booking Form within 10 days of the final exam schedule being posted.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the completed Exam Booking Form is received by the Accessibility Services assistant and/or learning skills coordinator.
For Trail and Castlegar students who have approved exam accommodations and are choosing to use their accommodations for an upcoming quiz, test or exam, please schedule your quiz, test or exam by completing and submitting the Student Exam Booking Form.
If the instructor changes the date or time of the exam, if you have any questions or if you need to cancel your accessibility services exam booking due to illness, please contact Nadya Sofonoff and Berle Jablonsky, Accessibility Services assistants, Castlegar Campus, by phone at 250.365.1429 or email at accessibilityservices@selkirk.ca.
Is your quiz, test or exam date seven days from today's date? If yes, get started with the form.
Nelson Campuses (Silver King, Tenth Street and Victoria Street) Exam Request Process
In order to book and confirm exam writing times, students must complete an Exam Booking Form for each exam. The learning skills coordinator must receive the completed form five days before the requested exam date.
Due the frequency of weekly tests, students in trades programs may submit a single form listing all of the exam dates, lengths and start times.
It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the completed form is emailed or delivered to the learning skills coordinator.
There are two exam booking options.
Option 1
Email your instructor and request they complete the Exam Booking Form. Your email should include:
- course name
- exam date
- exam booking link (see below for specific campus forms)
Option 2
Provide the instructor with a paper copy of the Exam Booking Form. The form is available at the Learning Skills Centre on your campus. You can also print a copy of the form.
Bring the completed form to the campus learning skills coordinator no later than five days before the scheduled exam date.

Things to Remember:
- PLEASE NOTE: It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the completed Student Exam Booking Form is received by the Accessibility Services assistant and/or learning skills coordinator.
- Most exams will overlap with the class exam writing time.
- Class time may be missed due to the extended time accommodations.
- In exceptional circumstances, if you have a class event that cannot be missed (such as a lab), contact your accessibility coordinator to discuss the situation well in advance of the exam date. An alternate exam writing time may be approved.
- Inform the Accessibility Services assistant and/or learning skills coordinator by phone or email if the date and time of a quiz, midterm or final exam changes.
- If you are unable to make the exam for any reason or you are going to be late, call the Accessibility Services assistant and/or learning skills coordinator as soon as possible.
