The Rural Pre-Medicine Program exposes you to so many different lines of work, so many different kinds of people and so many perspectives. You make friendships for life and come to have a deep love for rural living and learning.
What stands out as a strength of the Rural Pre-Medicine Program is the interpersonal connections and support that students receive. Being in a small cohort allows us to support and relate to each other in ways not possible at a big university. Within the community, we are given so many opportunities to meet with individuals in the health care sector and learn from their life experiences to find out what interests and inspires us.
The nature of the Rural Pre-Medicine Program pushes me to be organized and focus on my academic goals, which I know is preparing me for future schooling. Opportunities to volunteer and listen to speakers is beyond beneficial, it truly allows me to understand where I want to go in the future with my career.
