Transfer Credit
When your transfer credit is to be used as a prerequisite, you will need to apply for credit well before the semester in which the prerequisite must be met.
Depending on the nature of your previous courses, transfer credit may be used to satisfy Selkirk's graduation requirements. Up to 75% of our certificate, diploma or associate degrees may consist of credit obtained from studies completed at another accredited post-secondary institution.
Transfer credit accepted by Selkirk College may not be accepted by another institution, nor for the purpose of Canada Student Loans or BC Provincial Loans. A passing grade of 50% or higher is required to obtain transfer credit. Some program policies may specify that a passing grade of 50% is not acceptable for graduation or to satisfy the prerequisite for a subsequent course.
Transfer credit can only be approved by completing the Selkirk College "Application for Transfer Credit" form in consultation with the School Chair of your program. Please contact your School Chair to discuss the potential of transfer credit and proper application completion.
International students should be aware that transfer credits from online courses may impact their work permits. More information can be found here.
