Dave was born in Trail in 1964 and moved to Vancouver in 1983 to start an electrical apprenticeship. He completed his apprenticeship in 1988 and holds a Red Seal certification and a “B” level contractor license. In 1999, he along with his wife, Crystal, and daughter, Kelsea, moved back to Trail to start up Raves Restaurant.
In 2005, Dave started his teaching career at Selkirk College and holds an Instructor Diploma Certification from Vancouver Community College and is a recent NISOD award recipient. Dave presently teaches all four years of the Electrical Apprenticeship Program. He is the chair of the BCGEU 709 Bargaining Committee, co-chair of the Nelson JOHS Committee and vice chair of the BCGEU 709 Executive.
Dave's hobbies include skiing, trying to play the bass guitar, water sports at Christina Lake and motorcycling in the beautiful Kootenays. He has recently been promoted to grampa status.
