Growing up in the UK, Andrew was an active athlete and always looking to take on different challenges while contributing to community programs and activities. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication & Graphic Design from Leeds University and soon found his way working for leading design and marketing companies in London, England.
With a desire to adventure and explore new cultures, he set off on a gap year to Australia. Visiting multiple countries and volunteering for local organizations along the way, Andrew found a new meaning in building community.
Upon his return, a position with one of the large charities in the UK focused him on fundraising, building new partnerships and working with different organizations to promote essential safety awareness.
Moving to Canada in 2018 to be with his fiancé, Andrew knew he had found his place after a summer trip to Nelson. Mesmerized by the lifestyle and opportunity available in the Kootenays, his heart settled and he got to work settling into his new community.
With a passion to contribute to his community, Andrew has volunteered with the West Kootenay EcoSociety and Nelson Civic Theatre. Joining Selkirk College at the beginning of 2022, Andrew wants to continue to provide the opportunities he has experienced and enhance lives in the community he now calls home.
