Our team aims to create a safe and supportive environment for students to explore academic, personal and career issues.
Counselling services are available to all Selkirk College students. Counselling is free and confidential. Appointments are available Monday to Friday by phone, over zoom or in person.
For urgent or crisis counselling support, reach out to the Welcome Centre to connect with a counsellor on your campus.

Additional Mental Health Resources
Here2Talk provides all students currently registered in a B.C. post-secondary institution access to free, confidential counselling and community referral services, conveniently available 24/7 via app, phone and web.
BounceBack provides free access to online, video and phone-based coaching and a skills-building program designed to help adults and youth (15+) manage low moods, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry.
Anxiety Canada provides information and self-help resources on anxiety.
Selkirk College Students' Union (SCSU) Extended Health and Dental Plan has coverage for professional services including psychologists, social workers, counsellors, Master of Social Work or Psychotherapist. $75 per visit up to $575 per benefit year.

The counsellors at Selkirk College are professionals trained to provide a variety of counselling services. They assist students with gathering information, making plans and decisions, generating options, coping with crisis, and understanding themselves and others. When appropriate, referrals are made to community agencies and services.
