BScN, MN (NP)
Instructor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing
My background is in pediatric nursing, and residential care. I am a Selkirk/UViC graduate and have been nursing for 11 years. I have worked locally at KBRH on the surgical and pediatric units, the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, and in residential care in Ontario. I was recently living in the Northwest Territories and completed my Master of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner.
I was born and raised in the Kootenays, so knew it was where I wanted to end up. I intermittently travel back to the North and do locums as an NP. I have always had an interest in teaching and begun at Selkirk in the Fall of 2016. I have come to realize how exciting and satisfying it is to support students in their learning, and to share my experiences and nursing knowledge with my students. I am passionate about doing my best to facilitate and guide students to become excellent nurses!
Outside of work, I love spending time with my 2 kids and husband, hiking, going to the beach and camping.
