She completed her B.Sc. in wildlife biology at the University of Guelph and is currently finishing her M.Sc. in Earth and environmental science through the University of British Columbia - Okanagan. Her M.Sc. research involved remote sensing techniques for mapping wetlands using LiDAR. She has previous experience working as an environmental consultant in B.C.'s interior and as a resource management officer for Parks Canada in the mountain national parks. Kristina is a member of the Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society and is passionate about contributing to local conservation projects around the Kootenays.
At Selkirk, Kristina is involved with forestry-related research using LiDAR to improve existing snow survey methods. Her love for the outdoors and community are what drew her to Nelson, where she has been living since 2020. She is an avid skier, mountain biker, and enjoys painting in her down time.
