Angus began his career in post-secondary education at Selkirk College in 1992 as a faculty member in the Forestry program. Since that time, he has served as a School Chair, Dean, and Vice President. Angus holds a Bachelors of Science in Forest Management from the University of British Columbia, a Masters of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University, and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. He has maintained his certification as a Registered Professional Forester in the Province of British Columbia. He was appointed as President of Selkirk College in 2011 and received a reappointment in 2016 and in 2020.
Angus has dedicated his career to the community college movement in Canada and promoting its profound and critical role in the Canadian socio-economic landscape: one of providing accessible, relevant and compelling higher learning critical to the growth and development of a resilient civil society. He believes learners and the community are at the centre of the work of the community college.
