Student Elections

There is still an opportunity to fill a student position on the Selkirk College Board of Governors. If you are currently enrolled and in good standing, you are eligible to run!

  • One student position. Applications are encouraged from all Selkirk College campuses and learning centres. 

  • The Selkirk College Board of Governors meets the fourth Tuesday of each month from 4–7 pm.

Responsibilities

The terms of office for these positions are from October 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, or earlier, depending on program end date. These roles require about three to four hours preparation prior to each meeting.

Submit an Application

Nominations are still open. Follow these steps to complete the nomination forms for the Selkirk College Board of Governors and Education Council for the 2023/24 academic year.

  1. Write a candidate campaign statement to include with your candidate application form. This statement should include a short description about yourself and a short description of why you are interested in sitting on one of these committees (up to 200 words). 
  2. Complete the nomination application form. This form is available in fillable PDF or paper copies are available at the Welcome Centre and the Office of the Registrar on the Castlegar Campus and at the reception desk on all other campuses.

  3. All forms must be submitted no later than Friday, September 29, 2023, at 4 pm.

Nominations must be received by Friday, September 29, 2023, at 4 pm.

Election/Voting (if needed)

If an election is necessary, students will receive an email with further information.
