An election has been called to fill one student position on the Education Council. This position offers students a great leadership development opportunity.

One student position is open. Applications are encouraged from all Selkirk College campuses and learning centres.
Education Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 4:30–6:30 pm.
Responsibilities
The term of office for this position is from October 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, or earlier, depending on program end date. This role requires about three to four hours of preparation before each meeting.

Follow these steps to complete the nomination form for Education Council for the 2024/25 academic year.
- Write a candidate campaign statement to include with your candidate application form. This statement should include a short description about yourself and a short description of why you are interested in sitting on one of these committees (up to 200 words).
Complete the Nomination Application Form. This form is available in fillable PDF or pick up a paper copy at the Welcome Centre and the Office of the Registrar on the Castlegar Campus and at the reception desk on all other campuses.
- Submit all forms no later than Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 4 pm.
Deadlines
Nominations must be received by Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 4 pm.
The campaign runs from Friday, September 27, to Tuesday, October 1.
Election/Voting (if needed)
If an election is necessary, all students will receive a link through their student email to allow them to vote for the student of their choice electronically. Voting will take place from 10 am on Wednesday, October 2, to Thursday, October 3.
