Ryan comes from a mathematics and computer science background. He received a M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Ottawa in 2013. Mark has been living in the Nelson area for nearly 30 years and has been involved in the residential construction industry for most of that time. He has his own construction company doing mainly new home construction and is involved in almost all aspects from start to finish. NSLX 102 Beginners n̓səl̓xčin 2 is designed to help students to continue to develop Salish communication skills including: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will also be introduced to some aspects of Sinixt culture.

While all students are required to stay within certain size constraints and include a drawer and a mortise and tenon, the remaining design aspects are completely up to the maker.
