Kris was born and raised in Nelson and moved to Burnaby in 2011 to pursue education in software development. After graduation, he worked at NMi Gaming & Metrology as a test engineer, code analyst and project manager. He continued to work there for a couple years after they were bought by Gaming Laboratories International before leaving in 2020 to return to school. He graduated with distinction in
