Brittany graduated from Selkirk College with an Accounting/Finance Diploma. The Stanley Humphries Secondary School graduate wanted to stick close to home while pursuing her post secondary studies:
"When I first started the business program, I entered with the goal of becoming an administrative assistant. However, I took my first accounting course and found the concepts very interesting. The answers to the problems we worked on in class came easily to me.
My co-op terms at Grant Thornton really solidified for me that I was on the right career path as I enjoyed the work I was doing. I enjoyed the work so much it inspired me to continue my education after Selkirk. I am currently enrolled at Athabasca University where I am working on my Bachelors of Commerce. Once I have completed my Bachelors of Commerce Degree I will enter the CPA program.
If I hadn’t attended Selkirk, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience my co-op at Grant Thornton. Attending Selkirk led me to where I am today and I could not be more thankful."
Brittany is currently employed at Grant Thornton as an accountant.
